I received a self-introduction message from Mr. Mai, so I’d be thrilled if you’d take a moment to read it!

Hello. I'm Mai, the School Coordinator at the GLI Hiroo Campus.

At the Hiroo Campus, I help out both students and teachers to ensure that lessons run smoothly. Sometimes, I also teach junior high and high school students myself.

I'm from Okinawa Prefecture. This island is known for its beautiful ocean and nature, rich culture, and warm climate. I was born and raised in Okinawa, and moved to Tokyo when I joined GLI.

The town where I was born and raised is located on the West Coast, and on clear days, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets all year round. I used to love taking walks along the coast while watching the sunset!

There are many Americans living in Okinawa. Ever since I was a child, it’s been common to see foreigners around town. Partly because of that,Ever since I was a child, I’ve been very interested in English and English-speaking cultures.

After graduating from high school, I went on to a local university, andMajor in English Culture and English EducationI did. While in college, I also studied abroad in the United Kingdom. I obtained my teaching certification, and after graduation, I worked in various places, including remote islands,English teachers at high schools throughout the prefectureI was doing that.

Here is a photo from that time.

People often say I have a cheerful personality. I do have a timid side, but I'm the type who'll try anything I feel like doing. I might actually be a bit of an adventurer.

On a working holidayI worked at a coffee shop in New ZealandThat happens sometimes.

I love having fun and traveling! One of my goals is to go on a trip around the world someday.

Learning a language isn't easy, but I,English is one of the things that can expand your potentialThat is what I believe. From my own experience, I have felt firsthand how English can expand one’s possibilities. I truly hope that many others will come to feel this as well.

I find GLI's curriculum, which incorporates CLIL and inquiry-based learning, to be very appealing.

Why not have fun learning together at GLI and spread your wings to explore the world?

Please let us help you with that!

The first is the "M" in the "M".
