Why does GLI go on field trips?
Hello.I am Kaburaki, the representative of GLI.
At GLI, as part of the programField Trip.are held on a regular basis.
first (of all)Field Trip."That is to say,out of the classroom and what you've learned at GLI.Output to foreigners on the streetactivityIt is.
For example,Where did you come from?"What are you planning to do in Japan?"and other questions directly to foreigners in English,Conversation.
As recently as October 27.Asakusa.suffix used as a rough indicator of location, direction, time, etc.I went on a FieldTrip with my students. (*Photographs are from the last time we went to "Tsukiji")
There are so many foreigners in Asakusa on Saturdays and Sundays that you wonder if you are in Japan. The number of people is the same, but the variety of nationalities is also very diverse.
New York, Los Angeles, London, etc. must be like this on a daily basis. And Japan in the future! By the way, the major Japanese companies with the most foreign managers are Honda (15) Dentsu (14) and Daikin (10) (2016).
In the future, more and more foreignI will start working in Japan and yourBy the time your child enters the workforceWorking with multinationals."This will be the norm.
Why does GLI go on FieldTrip?
Now, back to the story. Why does GLI go on FieldTrips?"As to the reason for this,
(1) Try out the English you've learned.
Of course, there are foreigners in the GLI,If you get to know each other well, you will be spoiled.
I am familiar with pronunciation. The teacher reads the context. But,This is not the case for complete strangers.
In other countries, people usually speak to you at natural speed. I desperately try to convey what I want to say to such people. I think this is a good opportunity to test your ability.
(2) Cultivate the courage to talk to them and the desire to enjoy conversation.
When you go abroad, especially to the United States, people greet each other just by passing each other on the street. In Japan, this is a phenomenon that does not occur except in the countryside.
Also, overseas, it is common to see strangers enjoying conversation with each other in parks and cafes. It isoverseas standardsIt is.
Japanese people are usually shy people who cannot speak to others even if they want to.But as you can tell from talking to them this time, they are really friendly and do their best to listen to what you have to say and answer your questions.
But if you don't talk to them, nothing will happen. But don't you think that Japanese people are losing out because of their shyness?
I hope that wherever you go, don't be shy and enjoy conversation more and more.
And most importantly,
The world is a big place and there are a lot of people.
Asakusa is truly home to a wide variety of ethnic groups.Japan is a mono-ethnic country. An island nation.
For a long time, we lived in Japan and lived only with Japanese people for the rest of our lives. However, this will not be the case from now on.
However, the "world" is not an option for children in their consciousness, schooling, or future.
By going on field trips and coming into contact with many foreigners, you can imagine that the world is a big place and wonder what their countries are like. If possible, I would like you to visit these countries when you can freely use your time as a university student.
And when you think about your future career path,We want you to know that you have many options.
Japan is not the only place to live. There will be times when you feel stuck in life. There will be times when you hate the Japanese people.
When that happens, don't let such pressure get the better of you,I'm going overseas for a bit."I would like them to dodge lightly with
Of course, there is nothing wrong with a positive choice to go for a challenge with ambition,Learning English is not an end, but a means.
We want you to know what is beyond the film. That is why this is a Field Trip.
