GLI provides an environment where "SDGs" are the norm.

Hello, I am Kaburaki, a representative of GLI.

GLI provides an environment where "SDGs" are the norm.

(*)The SDGs."stands for Sustainable Development Goals, which are common goals for the international community decided upon by world leaders during a summit held at the United Nations in September 2015. For a detailed explanation, please click here.https://imacocollabo.or.jp/about-sdgs/)

To begin with, the text is about learning about the world. The countries studied are more developing countries than developed countries.

Study tours go to developing countries to learn about poverty, educational disparities, garbage issues, nature conservation, and more.

We are actively hiring English teachers from developing countries. Just yesterday, a teacher graduated from Kirirom Institute of Technology in Cambodia. A teacher from Mindanao will be coming soon.

Many of the online English teachers are also graduates of welfare institutions in Mindanao.

As you can see in the picture, we have a donation day every two months to hold workshops on poverty and educational disparities. We also hold workshops where teachers from developing countries talk about the environment in which they grew up.

Japan has nothing that it does not have, but sometimes very important things are delayed.

In Japan,27.59 million tons of food waste per yearand others have been issued. Among these,Food that can still be eaten but is discarded, so-called "food loss," is 6.43 million tons.

This is,Equivalent to 1.7 times the amount of world food aid (about 3.8 million tons per year in 2009) for people suffering from hunger around the worldI will do so.

Also,Food loss per capita is equivalent to ”one cup of tea (about 139g) of food thrown away every day. This is the case (Consumer Affairs Agency). But many people are not aware that they are wasting food, are they?

Also, they are very reluctant to take on renewable energy compared to other countries. One wonders if this is also a result of exam competition.I must say that although they are industrious, they have a very low perspective of what is best for someone else or for the world.

It is only when they go on study tours for AO or employment that they learn about the reality of neighboring countries.

Some educators say that the SDGs are not interesting for students.

That is why we need an environment where people think about world poverty and the importance of nature as a matter of course from a young age.

It's not about being interesting or uninteresting; it's not about AO or getting a job.

I believe that studying is essentially a way to solve such problems.
