Hawaii Island Study Tour Summer!

Kings College is ranked in World University Rankings,Ethnic diversity of the university, which is ranked higher than the University of Tokyo, with three students from Japan, one from England, and one from Hong Kong!

They will be staffing GLI's summer school this summer.

Summer School 2023 with Kings Students

Umeki Sensei's Thinking Classroom - Thinking about math (arithmetic) in English

Umeki-sensei, a Japanese teacher who is currently teaching at a school in Canada, will give a special class for GLI. (*Sensei Umeki's NOTE:https://note.com/takumeki/)

Western classes are student-centered. Students think and come up with answers on their own. It has been a long time since the term "active learning" was coined in Japan, but few teachers seem to be able to put it into practice in their actual classes.

Last year, Mr. Umeki came to Japan to present this self-thinking math class to schools all over Japan.

What is the difference from Japanese math classes, where memorization of formulas and pattern exercises are the mainstay?

There will be a lecture for parents as well as for participants, so please come and experience the difference between Japanese and Western classes.

Weekend Study Tour in Japan to finally start this summer - Part 1

The motivation for the tour changed a lot before and after the tour! In the spring of 2023, we will be going to Oahu, Hawaii.

The theme was SDG 14, "Let's protect the abundance of the oceans! and the theme was to collect plastic waste with a local NGO and present a solution to the experts.
