Why is "STEAM Education" important?

Hello, this is Bhushan from GLI.

 

Recently (January 4 and 5), a two-daySTEAM Program.I did!

 

On the day of the event, we flew a drone and built an original bridge using the structure of a Hydraulic Bridge/Bascule bridge, as shown in the photo below.

All of these activities will use elements of STEAM, but the most important thing I wanted to emphasize in this program was,Why is STEAM important?" is to help each participant understand "Why is STEAM important?

 

So on the day of the event,First of all, the meaning of "STEAM", Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, respectively.The students were made aware of the following

 

And this timeHow do the two activities (drones and drawbridges) relate to STEAM? While also explaining about theFor example, "What are drones used for?" We also set aside time for participants to discuss such questions as "What can drones be used for?

 

As for the reason for having the discussion,After all, we want people to feel the importance of STEAM firsthand.

 

The first day of drone activities taught technical terms related to drones (remote controller, mother board, propellor, etc.).

 

Then, all participants discussed "What can drones be used for? The participants were then asked to discuss "What can drones be used for?

 

That's where it came from."It helps to find victims in disasters."It was wonderful to hear the opinions of the participants.

 

Finally, we actually operated the drone. All the students were very interested in operating the drone, and I think they were able to feel the fun and importance of STEAM while watching the screen reflected from the drone.

The second day's activities are,Hydraulic Bridge/Bascule bridge is made with wooden sticks.

 

In the discussion before starting this activity,How could a bridge be built?"We talked about this.

 

We also informed them that some bridges are special bridges that can bounce up and down, which is why we are conducting this activity. Here are the bridges and the actual movement of the bridges. (Click here to see the video.)

 

Here, water pressure is used to make the bridge rise and fall. Everyone was very interested in this project.

 

Although there were only two activities during the two days of this program, we were able to learn a lot of things through this program.

I want to learn more about STEAM! and an inquisitive mind to learn more about STEAM!

 

I thought it would be nice if people would have a chance to see the new products and services.
