International Day Report!

Hello everyone!　My name is Kana from GLI.

 

recently heldInternational Day.We are pleased to report on the

International Day.is,Pick a country in the world and learn more about it to get more interested in foreign countries.This event is for.

 

And not only to learn,Opportunities to interact directly with local people and other English-speaking people every timeWe also make

 

In this issue.Nepal" and "America."The theme was two countries.

 

First, to give them a taste of actual travel, we had them listen to the in-flight announcements and audio of airplane takeoffs and landings.

 

And what is the flight time to the site, and what do I need when I arrive? I felt as if I was on the plane.

 

While feeling like such a traveler, we first learned about the "population," "capital," "currency," "president," "flag," etc. of Nepal and the United States.

And not only that,The lecturers, who hail from Nepal and the U.S., will share with us the deep culture they know because they are from their home countries, and how this town is actually like.and other "real information."also shared with us.

 

Dr. Bhushan, who is from Nepal, used Google Maps and Street View to explain the situation.

 

The International Day does not end with "learning.

 

First, the teachers will tell us about the current situation of "environmental problems" actually occurring in each country,

 

Why did the problem occur?
How can we solve the problem?

 

The participants exchanged opinions on such topics as the following.

 

As for us at GLI,Providing education that encourages students to become people who can be active globally, rather than just "learn English and be done with itI am doing this.

 

Therefore,We actively incorporate international issues and the SDGs into our learning.

 

This time in Nepal.The Trash Problem."In the U.S., the theme is California.Forest fires."environmental issues.

 

First of all, it is important to "know," and we created an opportunity for participants to think about environmental issues while watching the video.

At the end of the International Day, we had an opportunity to output the knowledge we had learned through quizzes and other activities to consolidate it.
