The need for ultimate 'career guidance' has emerged, but now schools are..,
Hello, this is Kaburaki, GLI representative.
Do you know what "career guidance" really means?
It is to explore what kind of life you want to lead, what kind of work you want to do, and what career path you should take to achieve it.
However,Until now, "career guidance" in Japan, both at schools and cram schools, has been based on grade point averages and deviation scores, which are the only predictors of success or failure.
But now.The Age of Diversification. It is. This would certainly leave the child in the lurch.
The reason is that the Jersey that was supposed to have existed no longer exists. (*"Jersey" is an ideal world that was said to be in India, which was the goal of the Sanzo priests.)
I tried my best to go there and it wasn't there! We don't want you to invade such mistakes, so we would like to share with you the ultimate career guidance that will help you make self-determination for the future.
A time when the goal of education was simple.
Logical people may have already noticed this, but..,The reason for that in the days when career guidance was only a pass/fail prediction.
that isBecause there was one purpose of education and one happy life path that could be derived from it.It is.
The purpose of education was to obtain even one point higher deviation in the mock examinations, to win the entrance examinations, and to enroll in a school with even one point higher deviation and obtain an academic background.
A sure peach of a place to get an education.
What is the background behind the success of this objective that is in a sense unshakable?Because the world (the real world) that awaited me by obtaining the handbill of passage called education was very simple and certain. It is.
In 1989, a whopping 32 Japanese companies were in the Top 50 in terms of world market capitalization of stock prices (17 in the U.S. and 1 in the U.K.).
NTT was No. 1, followed by the now-defunct Industrial Bank of Japan, and Sumitomo, Fuji, and Dai-Ichi Kangan Bank dominated the top five. This was Japan at the time when Sony acquired Rockefeller in New York and was regarded as "Japan as No.1",Getting a job at a well-known company was a way to obtain a rich life.
The equation was supported by theAcademic background."and such a society was almost certainly a peach of a place to be for those who had acquired an educational background.
And once you got into that peach of a time, you were sure to be rewarded with an "upside" (retirement) (*many people in their late 40s, 60s, and above still believe in that equation).
But the world has certainly changed - industrial change and Japan's decline.
In the stock market capitalization ranking mentioned earlier, what a surprise, only one Japanese company, Toyota Motor Corporation, is in the Top 50 in 1991.
In the 31-year ranking, Apple is No. 1, followed by Microsoft and Amazon. The so-called GAFAM.
What a corona influence, though,The market capitalization of these five companies (560 trillion yen) exceeded that of the 2,170 companies on the first section of the TSE (550 trillion yen).
What happened during the 31 years of the Heisei era? Many of you know the "why" of this as well.
Yes,Failure to keep up with industrial innovation was the main reason for this.
And,One of the biggest reasons for the failure to innovate is the failure to innovate in education.
The zero interest rate policy has barely kept stock prices in check, but it does not reflect the actual economic strength and competitiveness of the industry at all.
What will happen to Japan in the future? Will Japan be able to maintain the economic strength to allow its children to live in peace? I cannot help but feel anxious.
The economy is unstable and big companies cannot promise lifetime employment.
Then, instead of being dependent on the company, you have to start earning on your own.
where ... is concernedToday's children especially need to be equipped with the knowledge, thinking skills, and independence to think and decide for themselves.
So what should schools be like? Parents? What about the children?
I will continue this one in my next blog. Enjoy.
