The purpose of this visit is toLearn about Hawaiian culture, history, and Hawaiian handicraftsIt was.
First, everyone,Mahalo (meaning "thank you"), Aloha (meaning "hello," etc.), and other "Hawaiian words."I learned about the

Afterwards,A unique Hawaiian game called "ulu-maikaEveryone did the following.
In this game, two sticks are placed a short distance away from the player, and the ball is rolled between the two sticks.

This time we were rolling a ball or a bottle of water, but in Hawaii, the traditional game is to roll a "stone". This game was quite exciting!

After that,Hawaiian Lei", a Hawaiian handicraft, was created by all the students and the mothers and fathers who came that day.I did.

Everyone was so enthusiastic about these Hawaiian leis that the time passed very quickly.
From noon, we changed the theme a bit.Various countries.I learned about the

When I say learn about "countries," I don't mean just the names of countries like "Japan" and "China,We also learned about which "continent" and "place" each country is located, and the buildings and objects (i.e., landmarks) that "represent" each country.
The point of this activity was not to teach them one-sidedly, but to have fun while working together, and to have them acquire "knowledge and English" in the process. The point of this activity was not just to teach.
First, we divided the group into two groups and asked each group to choose three continents each.

We then asked the teams to think of a country or landmark (i.e., a building or object that symbolizes) on that continent and assign it to a team.
In some places, the teachers, including myself, gave hints and support in English,Teams work together to determine which continent has what landmarks, and then paste the countries and landmarks on a floppy world map.

Everyone was very enthusiastic about this activity and it was really wonderful!

Among them, especially Shunichi and Kent, who worked hard and took the initiative with the team in mind, Thank you so much! I would like to send them the MVP award.

We are happy that this activity will help you learn about the country and the continent.
And,We are very happy if this "Hawaii Day" will be an opportunity for many students to become more interested in foreign countries as well as in English.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated!
