Nepal Wedding Report
About!
①Costume
At a Nepalese wedding, the groom isDaura Suruwal."The bride and groom areSaree.to wear.
(2) Wedding Ceremony Rituals
The wedding will take place at the groom's house. The groom waits at home in his formal dhaura surwal while the groom's sister prepares for the ceremony.
In the meantime, the bride and groom's relatives, as well as friends and other attendees, will visit the bride's home, bringing her with them to my home.
Then, upon arrival, the bride and groom perform a unique wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, the bride's relatives came to the bride and groomWash their feet,Then they give the bride a gift.
It is a little strange for us Japanese to wash our feet, isn't it? lol But that's the interesting thing about cultural differences.
(iii) Eating "yogurt" at a wedding!
Also, this is different from the Japanese custom, but in Nepalese weddings"Eat something sweet, such as yogurt."Yes.
In Nepal, there seems to be a tradition that says that to do a good job, you should start with something "sweet". So, it seems that the groom eats "sweet" at the wedding ceremony in order to formalize his family and become a more respectable man.
Also, if you look at the photo of his wife, you will see Bhushan's wife's head.red powderCan you see the "*" on it?
Perhaps this picture is easier to understand,
This issindoorand is quite important in Nepal.
This is a ceremony in which the groom attaches a sindoor to the bride during the ceremony, and by doing so, she officially becomes his wife. This ceremony is called "sindoor" in Japanese.
In fact, in Nepal, a woman wearing a sindoor is a sign that she is married, and even if she is married, there is a rule that she must remove the sindoor if she has lost her husband.
4) The red pattern on the forehead!
The "red pattern" that Bhushan (the man on the right) is wearing on his wife istika."It is called "abir". It is a mixture of rice grains, yogurt and a red powder called "abir" (ava).
Even if we only look at weddings, the clothes and rituals are completely different in different countries, aren't they? After reading this postCultural differences between Japan and Nepal."I hope you will be interested in ^ ^ ^.
