GLI Online] 1 Day Summer Program: SDGs with Filipino Teachers

This year's online summer theme isSDGs with Filipino Teachers"

(This was originally a 3-day program, but has been changed to a 1-day program. Please understand.)

The one-day program includes...

1) Focus on the two goals of the SDGs, comparing teachers in the Philippines with our own country, Japan.The Learning Part."

(2) Make "Halo-Halo", a typical Filipino snack, with online cooking.The Fun Part."

The three-hour event is packed with "English," "learning," and "fun!

Event Flow

The event will be conducted online.

The "Online Event" is always attended not only by GLI students, but also by those from far away.

Introduce yourself in English and get to know your teachers and friends!

We challenged the students to greet each other not only in English but also in the Filipino language used by the teachers!

After warming up, participants will learn about Goal 2 and Goal 12 of the SDGs, which is also the theme of this summer school.

Goal 2 of the SDGs is "End hunger."

If you think of the world as a classroom of 40 people, four of them have nothing to eat today or tomorrow.

Is it only happening in distant countries?

Goal 12 is "Responsibility to Create and Use

I am sure you have all heard of the term food loss.

One-third of the food produced in the world is discarded.

We will learn about the current situation in the Philippines and Japan and consider what we can do to help.

What you learn will be summarized on a worksheet with your opinion written on it.

After learning and having fun, students were challenged to make Halo Halo, a very popular Filipino snack, through online cooking!

We are grateful for the environment in which we can eat our own snacks and enjoy them together.
