Requiem of Mourning and Monument of Hope
The reality of what is happening in Japan today
Hello, my name is Kaburaki.
Before we get to the main topic of today's discussion, let's start withMessage sent from me to the children of the school after the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011From.
...
I want you to look honestly at this reality, the reality that is happening in Japan right now.
And I hope that you will think about it and act sincerely on your feelings.
To the people of the world who continue to send us messages of courage and hope, and to the reality that the people in the affected areas are gritting their teeth and enduring the difficult situation,'Let's take some action ourselves.'I am sure everyone thinks so.
Let's take action."I don't think I would know what to do even if I were told to do so.
But if we don't do anything, it is likely to be forgotten again as time goes by, and Japan will be no different than it was in the past.
Considering the enormity of the misfortune that has befallen Japan this time around, don't you think that is not the way to go!
So why don't you change yourself, no matter how small!
Why not make a small contribution to society and become a cog in the wheel of change by taking a few proactive steps or continuing to do so!
With a pledge to this disaster and a strong desire to absolutely revive Japan!
Certainly nothing can be done alone.
However, if 127 million slight changes are gathered together, there will surely be an initial microtremor of change.
The LDP and DPJ have been unable to reach the people with their policies, and in the end, it is we the people who will suffer the ultimate misfortune.
Invisible misfortunes are slowly and gradually eroding our happiness, but we do not willingly change them because we cannot see them and because they are not an imminent danger to ourselves,
Politics does not change because the people do not move, and the people do not move because they have become accustomed to a society of boredom, insensitivity, and the spread of irresponsibility and indifference!
Am I the only one who feels that it is not too much to say that this negative cycle created the recent earthquake?
If people had been more diligent and modest as in the past, and had trained their minds, skills, and bodies on a regular basis to prepare for various situations in accordance with the spirit of bushido, and had learned greedily, this secondary disaster could have been avoided.
Can we continue to allow this to happen?
Japan is truly in a state of waiting: a high rate of serious crimes, the breakdown of the family, an increase in the number of NEETs and shut-ins, apathy, indifference, aimlessness, classroom disintegration, depression among working people, lonely deaths among the elderly, neglect, and numerous social problems left unresolved.
In this time of dire straits, people in areas not affected by the disaster have been hoarding goods, resulting in the unforgivable phenomenon of necessities of life not reaching the affected areas.
The Japanese praised by the foreign media were not actually there.
If they are told they will run out of rice, they buy rice; if they are told they will run out of tissues, they search for tissues; if they are told they will run out of bread, they buy bread.
If you don't have bread, why not rice?
If you don't have it, you just have to live with it, but like a spoiled child, you want this and that, you are tired, sleepy, and hungry!
The Japanese are at the mercy of what they don't have, rather than loving what they do have.
If things don't change now, Japan probably won't change.
As a result, the country's GDP will be overtaken by China and India, not to mention its economic competitiveness, and the national character that has allowed it to maintain order and integrity in such a situation, which won the world's admiration and respect, will be lost.
What if the Japanese people, who have been recognized around the world for their respect for life, their respect for human relationships, their modesty in life, and their diligence, have been gradually declining and have lost their unique traditional culture and its spirit?
If we have lost ground economically and culturally, don't you feel sorry for the next generation?
Can we really leave such a Japan to the next generation?
A people cannot do it alone. It cannot be done in a day or a year.
A proud national identity does not brew overnight.
A national identity admired and sent messages of support from the rest of the world is not easily created.
That is why we must wait here and now.
We have to hold on. We have to awaken.
We need to break free now from insensitivity, irresponsibility, indifference, and self-centeredness.
Now is the time.
This earthquake is the perfect opportunity to restore the pride of the Japanese people.
Don't you think we would feel sorry for the victims if we didn't!
They are doing their best to rebuild. We, who have the freedom now, must stand up for them.
One person's change may be small, but if 127 million people's changes come together, we can change this country in a big way.
So I suggest.
I hope to be a cog in the wheel to change Japan!
Let us reflect on our past indifference and irresponsibility, and make a small change with a wish, no matter how small it may be that we can do now!
Let us drive a wedge of determination into the center of our own hearts as a monument of hope for future revival, as a mourning badge for the repose of the souls of those who suffered from the disaster this time!
And once again, we will regain our souls as proud Japanese.
Epilogue
Children, you must more sincerely be in awe of the wonders and benefits of life, more sincerely consider what you should do now, and more sincerely take action.
We don't know what will happen tomorrow, and when something happens, it will be too late.
Even if you have the money, you cannot buy without the goods, as in this case.
Money can be left lying around in a home safe, but if it burns in a fire, it is finished.
The same goes for houses. And so is the car.
Even if you have savings in the bank, they will instantly lose their value if a financial crisis occurs and prices fluctuate rapidly.
Visible things are certainly easier to believe and rely on.
But on the other hand, it also carries the danger of losing it in an instant.
But wisdom and experience can never be taken away, no matter what.
And they can be utilized immediately.
So, children, learn more sincerely.
You will acquire enough wisdom and experience to survive no matter what happens.
You say it is troublesome and annoying, but if a disaster like this happened to you, you would surely turn to someone else for help.
It is the elderly and children who must be helped.
When you become adults, you must now move from being recipients of aid to being givers.
When many people are in trouble, you will be the first to stand up, rally people, give them courage, and be the one who can overcome.
We have been given various blessings, starting with life, and now we must become people who can return those blessings to society.
We must be prepared for this on a regular basis. Wear the weapon of wisdom.
And once things happen, they stand up boldly with courage and grace.
For the sake of those we love!
And for those who have been connected by invisible bonds and given us numerous benefits!
We will continue to make that one and only life, which was given to us by chance for that day, shine brightly every day!

This is a message I sent to the children of the school after the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011.
Nine years have passed since then.
A first-year student who entered junior high school at that time will graduate from college this spring.
What have they been thinking over the past nine years, and with what determination do they plan to take flight into the future?
We are now facing many difficulties and challenges with the coronavirus epidemic.
What has changed since 9 years ago? Are we able to learn lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake?
In this national crisis, hoaxes and hoarding are occurring again.
Schools are closed and the streets are filled with middle and high school students.
Backward-looking policies. In contrast, foreign countries are quick to make decisions and implement them.
There is no media to speak out against the government's body of work.
Will the Japanese remain silent and endure?
Will you continue to study at your desk all the time in a well-mannered manner?
Learning is not about getting a score or taking an exam.
Learning is a means of solving and creating.
I think you are studying a lot at home right now. I hope that what they see ahead of them will be the future of Japan and the world.
I believe that the role of education is to show them that future.
The incidents give us a glimpse of its future. What kind of future do you see for Japan?
Thank you for reading this lengthy article.
