Q:Where are you from?

I am from Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar has modernized a lot over the past decade, and I really love the area where I live because it is one of the older parts of the city, with some really cool architecture.
While I think Mongolia’s biggest highlights and natural beauty can be found in the countryside, with its blue skies and vast, open steppes, I am still very proud to call Ulaanbaatar my home.

Q:What have you studied, and what kind of experience do you have?

I studied Political Science at Waseda University, where I studied mainly in English.
Teaching at GLI was my first teaching experience, so I have become very familiar with the GLI way of teaching and have grown a lot as a teacher during my time here.
I also acquired my TEFL certificate, and I am continuing to learn more about teaching and improve my skills every day.

Q:How would you describe your personality? What are your hobbies and favorite things?

I would describe myself as a jokester. I might be a little unserious in serious situations sometimes, but I really enjoy making people laugh and creating a fun atmosphere.
My hobbies are traveling, playing games, and snowboarding.
On my days off, I like to visit new places and challenge myself by experiencing new surroundings. I enjoy exploring places I have never been to before and trying new things.

Q:What inspired you to become a teacher, and why did you want to teach English to children?

Some of my friends were becoming teachers and talking about their experiences, which made me very interested in teaching. I started asking them more about what it was like.
Also, my grandparents were teachers, so I have always been familiar with the role and intrigued by the idea of someone using their own abilities to teach and help others.
I wanted to start by teaching younger children because I feel that I understand them well and I enjoy being playful with them. I chose English because it is one of my strongest skills.

Q:What do you value most when teaching your lessons?

I value creativity and individuality.
I don’t want students to think that they always have to do things only my way or the institute’s way. I like to encourage originality and outstanding behavior, and I want students to feel comfortable expressing their own ideas.

Q:How do you support children who are nervous or lack confidence in English?

I try to make them laugh and feel like they belong, and then help them become comfortable slowly.
I also make sure they understand that effort is sometimes more important than the result, and that getting an answer wrong is completely okay.
I want students to feel that making mistakes is a normal part of learning and that they should never be afraid to try.

Q:What do you like about GLI, and what would you like to achieve here in the future?

GLI has a different philosophy from other conversation schools I have heard about. We highly value individuality and allow teachers to express their own teaching styles and methods.
Because of this, I can be more creative with things like icebreakers and activities while still following a strong curriculum.
I want to become a masterful teacher and continue learning from my senior teachers and the students around me.

Q:What advice would you give children to help them enjoy learning English?

I would advise them to try speaking English with anyone — friends, tourists, family, or even by themselves!
Also, watching your favorite shows or videos in English can help a lot.
Most importantly, don’t worry about making mistakes. The more you use English, the more comfortable you will become with it.

Q:Finally, please share a message for our students and their parents.

Globalism has become more important than ever, and many nations have become increasingly interconnected over the past few decades.
One of the key drivers of this is culture, traditions, and language. English is used all around the world, and it can become an important tool for your child’s education and future career.
It is a language that can take you anywhere and help you talk to anyone.
I hope our students can enjoy learning English at GLI and discover all the possibilities it can give them!
